Ce document est fourni uniquement en anglais. La version anglaise fait foi.

This policy explains what personal information Global Optimize Logistics collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers this website and the freight services we provide through it.

1. Who is responsible

Global Optimize Logistics, 123 Logistics Way, New York, NY 1000, United States, is responsible for the personal information described here. For any privacy question or request, contact globaloptimizelogistics@gmail.com.

2. Information you give us

  • Contact form: first and last name, email address, and — if you choose to provide them — phone number and company name, together with your subject, service of interest and message.
  • Quote requests: your name, email, and optionally phone and company, plus shipment details such as origin, destination, weight and a description of the cargo.
  • Shipment bookings: the names, email addresses, phone numbers and addresses of the shipper and the consignee, and details of the goods.
  • Accounts: if you work for us and have an admin account, your name, email address, role, assigned branch, and a securely hashed password.

3. Information about other people

When you book a shipment you usually give us details about someone else — typically the consignee. If you provide another person's information, you confirm you are entitled to do so and that they know their details will be used to deliver the shipment.

4. Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider processes standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, in order to serve the site and keep it secure.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not run third-party analytics or social media pixels on this site.

5. Live chat

Our live chat is provided by Smartsupp. If the chat is available on the page, its script loads in your browser and Smartsupp receives technical data such as your IP address, browser, and the pages you view, and sets its own cookies so a conversation can continue across pages and visits.

Anything you type into the chat — including any personal information you choose to share — is processed by Smartsupp on our behalf and is visible to our support team. Please do not send sensitive information or payment details through the chat.

6. Cookies and local storage

  • Session cookie: set only when someone signs in to the admin area, to keep them signed in. It is strictly necessary for that feature.
  • Local storage: we store a single flag ("gol:pwa_install_dismissed") in your browser to remember that you dismissed the "install this app" prompt, so we do not show it again. It contains no personal information and is never sent to us.
  • Live chat cookies: set by Smartsupp when the chat loads, so it can recognise a returning visitor and keep the conversation together. See Smartsupp's own privacy policy for details.

7. Why we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote — because you asked us to, and to take steps before entering a contract.
  • To answer you over live chat and keep a record of that conversation — because you started it, and for our legitimate interest in supporting customers.
  • To arrange, carry out and track your shipment, including customs formalities — to perform our contract with you.
  • To comply with law, including customs, tax, sanctions and export-control obligations — because we are legally required to.
  • To keep our site and services secure, prevent fraud, and improve our service — for our legitimate interests.

8. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

  • Carriers and their agents — airlines, shipping lines, hauliers and rail operators — as needed to move and deliver your goods.
  • Customs authorities and other regulators, where required to clear the shipment or to comply with law.
  • Our service providers, who act on our instructions: our cloud hosting provider, and MongoDB Atlas, which stores our database.
  • Smartsupp, which powers our live chat and processes chat messages and related technical data on our behalf.
  • Google, if the tracking map is enabled: the map is embedded from Google Maps, and loading it lets Google receive your IP address and the map location. Google's own privacy policy governs that processing.
  • Professional advisers, insurers, or authorities where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

9. International transfers

Freight is international by nature. To deliver a shipment we must transfer the parties' details to carriers, agents and authorities in the origin, transit and destination countries, which may be outside your own country and may not offer the same level of data protection.

Our infrastructure providers may also process data outside your country. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. How long we keep it

Enquiries and quotes that do not become shipments are kept only as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Shipment and customs records are kept for as long as required by customs, tax and commercial law in the relevant countries, and for as long as a claim could reasonably be brought. Admin accounts are kept while the account is active.

11. Security

Access to the admin system is restricted and password-protected, passwords are stored hashed rather than in plain text, and traffic to this site is encrypted in transit.

No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the risk.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format.

To make a request, email globaloptimizelogistics@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity first. Some information — customs and shipment records in particular — must be retained by law, so we may not be able to delete it on request.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

13. Children

This is a business service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated.
